Relocation of Gordon Cooper Boulevard

Fairgrounds traffic issues greatly improved, thanks to relocation of this major thoroughfare.

For decades, impaired traffic flow has been a significant problem at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. It’s an issue that has greatly improved after this much-needed realignment of Gordon Cooper Boulevard, which serves as the main north-south roadway through the entire State Fair Park.

Key to the success of this effort was FSB’s ability to coordinate our efforts with a separate concurrent project, namely relocating a large open drainage culvert which had been a fairgrounds eyesore for many years. FSB constructed the new roadway over the top of the culvert, plus provided extensive relocation of electrical and other utilities. Landscaping, hardscaping and decorative site lighting finished off the project.
